Vitamin D deficiency
Symptoms:
- weak muscles
- soft bones
- nervousness
Vitamin D is beneficial to our health in a variety of ways. The importance of vitamin D for bone health has long been recognized, as it plays a key role in calcium and phosphate balance maintenance. Calcium absorption from the gut into the blood is hampered without vitamin D. As a result, a vitamin D deficiency might have a negative impact on skeleton mineralization, making it less stable. As a result, the most common vitamin D deficient disorders and their consequences are bone ailments: Rickets in childhood and osteomalacia in adults are both conditions marked by bone decalcification. A lack of vitamin D has also been linked to an increased risk of osteoporotic fractures.
