9. Lofoten – Norway
The harsh seas of the European North Sea, north of the Arctic Circle, cover a magnificent natural paradise: White beaches and sandbanks meet blue waters in Lofoten, and breathtaking mountains meet deep fjord landscapes. The barren mountain peaks are dusted by the first snowfall of the winter, while auroras light up the night sky. There is evidence of the ancient Vikings in addition to the wonderful landscape. The history of the Norsemen is properly presented in the Lofotr Viking Museum in Borg.
